Research Interests

My research interests are quite vast, but largely focus on volcanoes and their processes. My research history thus far has concentrated on the timescales of volcanic and magmatic processes and magma genesis; however, I have recently pivoted to hydrothermal alteration processes and timescales on active volcanic edifices. I use a variety of tools and techniques such as fieldwork observations, laboratory experiments, and various modeling techniques, to investigate these processes. Through my studies, I hope to contribute to the current understanding of volcanic processes which have broader implications on hazard modeling (e.g., lahars and flank collapse) as well as mitigation. My future hope is to apply my current knowledge of hydrothermal activity on volcanic edifice to other planetary bodies such as Mars in order to investigate the presence of water across the solar system.
